GO RYUJI! La Vendetta. FIGHTING! haha
Lol it’s kind of funny how Ryuji is still polite with the Hyeongsa.
But i wonder what happened with Ryuji’s case though.

근데 여기다 이런 질문 해도 되나…
오른쪽에 나오는 아바타 어떻게 나오게 하나요?
눌러 보니까 GRAVATAR라는 곳이 나오길래 사인업하고 사진 올리긴 했는데 안뜨네요?

Manyak… www.gravatar.com 이미 가봤어요? 회원가입했고 사진을 올린 일이 있어요? 아찍 안 나왔어요? 이상해요!
Whoa… I sort of feel like there are still a bunch of unanswered questions!

I’m still not sure Ryuji is not a bad guy. Hyeongsa is worse, though … But what was Ryuji doing with a knife in the first place ???
Wednesday at 6:21 am
I like today’s lesson. I always hear the word 안 돼 on tv, but i didn’t really know the exact meaning, i knew it was something like No, but i didn’t know when to use.
Besides meaning: No, it can’t be
Does it also mean: Not Okay ?
Wednesday at 6:35 am
Sure, you can use it to scold people:
그러면 안 돼.
That’s not okay. (What you’re doing)
Wednesday at 7:32 am
so the detective was not able to tell a butter knife from any other kind
very good vocab

Tuesday at 1:14 am
Thanks, I liked the series, not so much because of the story (although that was entertaining), but because it introduced a lot of useful vocab and phrases.
I’m just wondering how the newbie, beginner and intermediate series link up… I mean, when one finishes the newbie, is he at the level to tackle beginner, and so on? Or is it ok too if one does them all concurrently?
Saturday at 11:53 pm
nice one
Tuesday at 6:59 pm
Thankyou so much! Luvin this. Absolutely! This is the fourth method i have tried in learning this language and you are the BEST by far! . . . . group hug! mmwwaa! lol
Tuesday at 7:19 pm
Shan - sorry for the delayed response… It doesn’t happen very often, but I guess it got lost!
As for your question… this particular Newbie Series was created with the premise of explaining things by patterns, and not by going into the grammar. But each lesson builds upon the last lesson. Our Newbie Season 2 is modular, and each lesson is a self contained lesson that has no relation to the last lesson or the first lesson. All the lesson in Newbie Season 2 are the same level.
You should move onto Beginner if you’re ready to tackle the language in more depth. Beginner Season 1 is at a similar level as Newbie Season 1, but in this case it actually explains the grammar. Beginner Season 2 continues on from Beginner Season 1 and builds upon the previous Beginner lessons.
I hope this explains! And if it doesn’t, I’m sure it’ll be useful for some of our other listeners with similar questions.
Trixie - Glad you enjoyed the series! Please feel free to leave any lesson suggestions you may have! We try to accommodate everyone.
lishuys - I’m very glad that you enjoyed this lesson! Please let us know if you have any suggestions, and what you think may help make KoreanClass101.com the best site you’ve ever seen

Last nite when i finished all of the Newbie S1 lessons, I tuned into the last episode of the New Heart kdrama that I have been fanading and one character said: “jinjja!” lol. I was so ecstatic to understand it . . . . so, kahamsamnida, koh-mahp-soomnida and all the other korean thankyou words in their most politest form with a deep bow from the wast and hands clasped
Yipppeee!! I’m progressing . . . .
Wednesday at 10:28 am

Thank you for the great series! I’m going to move on to Beginner 1 now, and sill keep up with Newbie Season 2. This week I’ve been watching 풀하우스 on DVD the past few days, and it’s been fun to recognize so many words from the Newbie and Culture Class lessons:

wow…nice lesson…
I’ve started with the beginner series season one and when I reach beginner season two, it seems too much for me so I decided to try the newbie lesson.
and luckily that I did…it adds more useful vocabulary….
I think I will finish all the newbie lesson first before continuing to beginner series season 2…..I need more practice…
Btw, I want to ask a question about “…..te-meun-ne”
can u only put a noun before it or can you also put verbs or sentences??
like “because I love you” - Is “saranghae te-meun-ne” the right way to say it??
if so, can u give me an example…
tnx….hoping for someone to reply…

How do you guys Differentiate between “NE” (yes) and “NAE”(my)?
Monday at 10:26 am
Great question!
Ne (네) & Nae (내)
first, to pronounce 네, you don’t have to open your mouth big.
compare to 네, you have to open your mouth bigger when you pronounce 내.
You have distinguish those depening on contents.
Since their meaning are totally different it is easy to distinguish which is which when you read or listen them.
There will be more…
For now, I would say only above…
Thanks for your interest.

Annyeong!
I was wondering…what’s the difference between “nae” and “je”?
Both of them mean “my” right?
Kamsahamnida
Wednesday at 1:27 pm
Hello Mimi,
About your question,
내(nae) vs, 제(je)
Here is my explanation.
“I” can be
나(na) in informal Korean
저(jeo) in formal Korean.
In order to make ‘possessive pronoun’, you need to add 의(ui).
Therefore, “my” becomes…
나(na) + 의(ui) = 나의(na-ui) in informal Korean.
저(jeo) + 의(ui) = 저의(jeo-ui) in formal Korean.
and here is the answer for your question!!!
The shortened form of 나의(na-ui) is 내(nae).
The shortened form of 저의(jeo-ui) is 제(je).
Yes, both mean “my”.
I hope this helps…
cheers,
Tim
