I have a few thoughts/ideas (after just one listen)

- There are so many things to go over in the explanation, I think it would keep me busy for a while. All this to say that one advanced lesson a week would be a lot of keep up with! There is so much good natural language to listen to outside of just learning the vocabulary itself…the same is actually true for the audio blogs. Maybe you could have these lessons come out on alternating Fridays.

-I really like the audio/PDF implementation. Great job! Just some style suggestions. The bell sound is good for notifying the listener to move to the next section, but since there are parts in the PDF that aren’t in the audio, it’s easy to get lost. So, perhaps the phrases could be numbered, and then you can have the bell ding followed by “1번…..2번…..” And/or make the phrase in the PDF stand out a little bit..bigger font, bold, etc.

I thought the lesson would be conversation based and not monologue based. I felt that this is like a mini audio blog. I felt it hard to understand the explinations since it was at the same level korean as the lesson monologue itself. I think it would be better if the lesson was still converstion based but on more “advanced” topics with more “advanced” grammar, ie the news, workplace, etc…

Very interesting! OK, I didn’t understand a word myself but I think I caught the word 설날 then I saw New Year written in the keywords so I was correct. That PDF isn’t free by the way!

I haven’t looked over the PDF yet but I really enjoyed the lesson. There were a couple of words that I needed explained but you did a great job doing that in Korean! Thank you. This is just the type of lesson I have been hoping for.

음성은 한국어 100퍼센트이지만 레슨 노트를 보면 고금 레벨이 아닌 저라도 공부할 수　있다고 생각했어요. （물론, 사전은 필요하지만요.）저는 음성 내용을 추리하면서　듣는 것이 좋아했으니까 레슨 노트를 봐서 너무나 친절한 내용으로 좀 놀랐어요.

I really enjoy the audio blogs and look forward to a new one every Friday. When I first listened to this monologue I was a little disappointed and thought it was too advanced for me – I didn’t like it. Then, after listening to the entire audio lesson, following along in the PDF I discovered this was very rich in teaching/learning content (황금 경험). The explanations in Korean are very good although I had to listen and read them over numerous times before I understood it. I think this format is a keeper!

I totally agree with 오스틴 and would like to add some suggestions along those concepts.

-Keep the Audio blogs – I like the idea of alternate Fridays.
-In the PDF it would be helpful to section off each phrase and its explanation. I suggest a straight dark line. Fortunately I have Acrobat 7.0 professional which allows me to add a line separating each explanation segment. It also allows me to insert text notes in 한글 or English.
-For the explanations in Korean I think it would be helpful to break it up into a line-by-line audio transcript. Again, fortunately I us an audio editing software program that allows me to select audio segments, play them over and over until I understand what is being said (even slow the audio down when it is to fast for me), mark audio segments with labels/notes in either 한글 or English, and to delete the lead in 40 seconds of music (sorry, I really do like the music but do not want to listen to it over and over). If anyone is interested I use “Audacity”, which is an excellent sound editor that is a free download available at

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ (I use version 1.3.4)

Keep up the great work. I especially enjoy the Intermediate Lessons, the Audio Blog, and now the Advanced lessons.

This is an awesome idea! I’m a big fan of CSLpod (Chinese) and they have a similar format.

I’m looking forward to the day when I can understand everything! I’m listening hard right now though and Fighting! through my Korean study.
