자, 오늘은 첫 번째 오디오 블로그이니까, 간단한 제 소개를 하겠습니다.

음… 선현우는 누구인가? 예, 누구일까요?

제 이름은, 이미 알고 계시죠? 네, 제 이름은 선현우이고, 지금 대학교 4학년입니다. 외국어 공부를 정말로 좋아해서, 지금 대학교에서 전공으로 프랑스어를 공부하고 있습니다. 원래 태어난 곳은 광주이지만, 지금은 서울에서 대학교 근처에 살고 있습니다.

여동생이 두 명 있는데요. 한 명은 서울에서 저와 함께 살고 있고, 다른 한 명은 광주에서 어머니, 아버지, 할머니와 함께 살고 있어요. 서울에 살고 있는 여동생은 디자이너이고, 광주에 살고 있는 여동생은 회사원입니다.

자, 이것으로 첫 번째 오디오 블로그를 마치겠습니다. 여러분은 지금 어느 나라, 어디에 살고 계신가요? 혹시, 서울에 살고 계시는 분? 안 계세요? 만약 서울에 살고 계시면, 저한테 꼭 연락 주세요. 아시겠죠? 만나서 이야기하면 정말 재미있을 테니까요. 자, 그럼 오늘은 이것으로 마치고, 다음 주에 뵙겠습니다.

Nicely done, your a very good speaker as in …not rushed at all and everything was at a good cadence….I understood less than I thought I might, but thats why I am here.

I didn’t write too well… I meant to say that they aren’t photos they are movies and that you’re holding that pose while the camera is running.

Yes, I speak a bit of French. My uncle married a French girl so I learnt a bit of French. I learn other languages now but do keep a bit of French under my belt at all times. 안녕!

Ouais, j´apprends le francais à l´université J´adore apprendre de nouvelles langues (comme tout le monde ici!) et le fraçais est la deuxième langue étrangère pour moi après l´anglais. Ton français est très fort . Tu es d´où? Les Etats Unis, peutêtre?

Yeah, french(프랑스어) verb conjugation is making millions and millions of students around the world to give up on French (프랑스 동사 변화 때문에 전세계 수백만 명의 학생들이 프랑스를 포기하고 있죠!)

But like you said I’m so glad that we have those websites like verb conjugator. And I hate traslation websites too!

Actually Jasta, your hearing seems to be very precise
sometimes, when one syllabic block is proceeded by another syllabic block with the same vowel, they almost merge into one.

For example:

재미있다, 미 is followed by 있, which uses the same vowel ( ㅣ ). So in Korean, it’s much easier to fuse these two together.

Colloquially, 재미있다 sometimes is said as 재밌다 just because it’s much easier to merge the two together, without having to pause between 미 and 있.

Hope this makes sense

It’s funny you should say that… the first guy I met said his name was 김 something-something… I said “Oh, I can just call you Kim if it’s ok, that’s easier to remember for me to remember.” He smiled and said “but we’re all called 김!”

I liked the audio blog. I did not have any difficulty with it. 현우씨 spoke in a very easy to understand way. After listening through the blog I listened again with the transcript which I think will really benefit me in my reading speed (I am very slow reading Korean ).

I don’t think there’s any Korean dictionary in the same format as the Jim Breen’s Dictionary,

but these dictionaries will be very helpful for you in learning Korean.

The word for English Dictionary in Korean is “영어사전”, so for Koreans, “영어사전” means an English-Korean dictionary, but these websites all offer English-Korean and Korean-English dictionaries~!!

i watched the video a couple of times and i hear the difference but the 2 little guys on the bottom of 밌 or 있, aren’t they pronounced ss in other words? in the video they sound like a p or something.

Hey all..

Reaching way back in history here…. but I just want to let you in on a new project, and challenge you to do the same! Remember max talked about some weekly video HW assignments a while ago? Well, I know that that making videos really helps with my speaking, and I really want to make more, but it’s hard to think of good subject matter when I’m studying on my own here.. so I decided to make a video using some of the vocab from each audio blog that was new for me.
